India Springs

Global Regulatory Compliance Policies

There are a variety of global regulatory issues that impact not only India Springs & Form, but also our customers. From humane concerns to the protection of human health and the environment, we maintain awareness of these matters and continually evaluate the possible effects on our customers. IndiaSprings maintains compliance with these most notable issues of the day.

Conflict Minerals Policy

- US regulation for publicly held corporations (2010).
Conflict minerals restrictions are an effort to prevent the proceeds from the sales of specific minerals from financing armed conflict in parts of Africa. The minerals are known as “3TG” - Tungsten, Tantalum, Tin, and Gold.

Proposition 65

State of California environmental regulation (1986)
Prop65 is the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act. Again, at the heart of this law is a list of nearly 1000 chemicals. Products that contain these chemicals in concentrations that exceed a ‘safe harbor limit’ require that the products are labelled in a very specific and detailed manner.

RoHS Compliance Policy

European environmental regulation (2003)
RoHS is the Restriction on Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment. It is on the 3rd version and is now known as RoHS 3, and bans certain chemicals (currently 10) from entering the EU.

REACH Policy

European environmental regulation (2006)
REACH is Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals and is controlled by the European Chemicals Agency. At the heart of the regulation is a list of substances of very high concern, SVHC. Articles containing SVHC beyond specific concentrations are affected. This list currently contains 191 substances and is subject to change every 6 months.

India Springs Inc. manufactures over 65,000 different custom springs and wire forms that are engineered and designed by our customers. Although our customers have the ability to identify the substances that are used to manufacture those products, they turn to IndiaSprings not for policy statements, but for the signed certifications they require to conduct business.

To support our customer’s needs regarding such continually changing regulations, IndiaSprings is developing Full Material Declarations (FMD’s) that can be supplied to our customers so that they may regain control of their ability to respond to the regulatory demands of their customers. If you have any questions or concerns regarding a specific product, or if you require regulatory certifications, please contact the Quality department at IndiaSprings.
